NIS Chairman Hails Governor Seyi Makinde for Appointing New Surveyor General of Oyo State
The Chairman of the Nigeria Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Oyo State Branch, Surveyor Abiodun Lamidi, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing one of their members as the substantive Surveyor General of Oyo State. He made this statement during a courtesy visit to the Surveyor General’s office at the Secretariat in Ibadan.
Surveyor Lamidi expressed that the Nigeria Institution of Surveyors is ready to partner with the Oyo State Government and the Surveyor General’s office to establish a smooth working relationship that will foster development in the state. The Chairman of NIS also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for recruiting 28 new officers as full staff of the Office of the Surveyor General of Oyo State, noting that this would fast-track the work of the state government.
He emphasized that the cooperation between the Office of the Surveyor General, the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON), and the Nigeria Institution of Surveyors will undoubtedly move the state forward.
In response, the newly appointed Surveyor General of Oyo State, Surveyor Olusoji Adeoye, expressed gratitude to the NIS for their unwavering support and assured that he would work to ensure synergy among surveyors in the state. The Surveyor General also added that the Oyo State Government will continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state.
